Writing a list is a good way to give your readers valuable information they can use and take away from the blog. Your job is to select an angle for your list post that relates to your blog topic: a list of examples, important products/places/people, what to do OR not to do, etc. Be creative, have fun and do a bit of research about your topic to see what you can find to help create your list. Your list should be an original angle and should include the following:
- A title that catches the angle of your post
- At least 5 and no more than 10 items
- Clearly numbered/labeled items that are parallel in type
- Provide relatable examples or valuable take-away explanations for each item, that show how/why it made your list
- Show some logical order/organization (alphabetical, chronological importance, etc) based upon the angle you chose
- Be grammatical, proofread for errors and easy to read/scan for readers.
Top five craft stores for all of your supply needs near Delafield, Wisconsin
ReplyDeleteAs I post each week I have come across a large number of fans in Delafield, WI. In fact, I have been contacted by a local school there telling me how often they have been using my ideas in their classrooms. This is why I thought I would tour their school and also help them with their art program. I searched around the area to help find the school great locations on where they could find all of the supplies necessary and rated them by putting them in a list of top five in the area.
5.) Walmart
This is clearly not designated store for just crafts, and people can shop there for all types of things. But as a retail store focusing in almost anything, it does put a lot of time and effort into the craft supplies section. Not everything helpful can be found here but it will do the trick for little materials that you need to have.
4.) Hobby Lobby
These stores are not as popular as others which is weird because these stores do hold a lot of neat supplies that I haven't seen in others. When I entered this location it felt very odd when a large store with a decent amount of people within, only had one employee on service. This was very inconvenient for others who needed to wait for help. But when looking for supplies you usually don’t need this and could do well on your own.
3.) Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts
When searching in the area it was quite a surprise on how well supplied an uncommon store brand could be. The building was a decent size and had many things located on the walls and shelfed in the center of the store. The employees were very enthusiastic about their jobs and recommended many items for craft ideas that I listed off of my posts.
2.) Ben Franklin Crafts
This was a huge shock to see on the side of the road when driving around. I have never heard of this store which is shocking because it was HUGE. I walked in and my eyes were filled with shelves upon shelves upon shelves. Anything I listed to one of their many employees I was immediately pointed to an aisle. This was a great experience in an uncommon store and the only reason it's not number 1 is because it’s a little further out rather than closer to Delafield.
1.) Michaels
These stores can be found all over and it's extremely surprising how similar each are in size and supply. This is by far the most helpful staffed location I could find by my house and also in this Delafield location. There was not a single employee nor customer upset while roaming the store. Everyone was smiling and I don’t know how many employees asked if they could assist me. Many would find this annoying at others stores, but at such a large store with many different options and brands for the same product, without help it would be easy to end up with something not working well. Personally, this would always be my choice for anything craft related that I need.

DeleteWith my final post, I tried capturing a more personal angle so that my readers will be able to understand why i'm posting this. For such a popular blog that I've been writing over these past few weeks, why would I targeted a random Wisconsin school? The intention is clear that it's so that my fans know that I do appreciate every reader and take pride in my work. Anything I can do to give back is important and that's what I wanted people to know. I hope that people walk away with learning a lot about crafts and who I am as a writer. If I wrote about anything else besides crafts, my posts would not mean as much to me and wouldn't be helpful to others like I always intended it to be. Thank you for all of your support and I appreciate the time everyone took to read my blog.
DeleteThe worst of PETA
ReplyDeleteThis list will give as few examples of how PETA manipulates and lies to their readers in order to get funding and support for their organization.
1)Facts:
PETA makes up facts or stretches the truth so far it becomes fake. They also do not use any credible sources to back up their data or evidence. They use plastic animal models and make them look gory so the reader thinks that what truly happened to the animals.
2) Pictures:
They use disturbing pictures of animals and plastic models of animals and make they look like they have been beat to death to make the views believe that what animals go through and how they are treated. A perfect example of this is PETA’s sheep wool ad. They created a fake plastic model of a sheep and made it look like when they are shaved for their wool the farms cut them and beat them when they actually don't. A farmer would not want to kill the thing that is making them money unless killing it was and in this case it's not. Sheep are shaved with the same type things humans used to get a buzz cut. The sheep are not harmed in anyway but PETA makes it look that way so people donate money to their organization
3) Celebrity endorsers:
PETA uses celebrity endorsers in their ads to make it seem like what hey are saying is right, and it's not. If people see that celebrities support PETA they will think that it must be right and that they should go support and donate PETA. Something many people don't know about is that PETA will plan attacks on celebrities at red carpet events if they wear some type of animal fur or have acted out towards PETA.
4) Emotional Words:
PETA uses emotionally touching words that could anger or upset their readers about what they are talking about. The reader can also show empathy for the animals, and that’s PETA’s goal.
5)Buzzwords:
In addition to the use of emotional words they also use words like traumatic, suffer, frantically, filthy in order to make their claims sound more appealing and eye catching to the reader.
For my list I focused on the main points of where PETA goes wrong in their ads and articles and why people fall for PETA’s lying act. The way I organized this was from what most people see first (big details) to the things people have to look harder or read further into to see (small details). This works because it creates flow throughout my list. The main thing I want people to take away from this list is not to be fooled by PETA, a lot of their information is wrong. Blogging isn't the easiest thing ever it takes a lot of research and time in order to make it really good, but all and all this unit was not bad.
DeleteSection V: Planned Financing:
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be the section of where you explain your finances. You are going to need to create projected revenue for each product/service you are going to be selling. Along with this, you are going to calculate operating expenses. This includes: rent, heating, electric, etc. Include one-time maintenance fee’s for the business. These might include renovations for the grand opening.
You are going to need to create a proposed plan of capital needs. This is going to explain where you are going to be getting the money from to start your business, and the money you will be investing in your own business. Explain if you are going to be taking any loans out and how you plan on repaying those loans.
Section VI: Conclusion:
This explains what you are going to be asking investors when you are ready to ask for capital. Explain any other information as well, like if you are going to be adding another service later on, or so on. If you don’t do this then how will investors know what you are willing to give in return for their money?
Section VI: Bibliography:
These are sources that you used for writing your plan. There is going to be a lot so I would recommend you keep a record of everything you use. If you don’t complete a bibliography then you have plagiarized. This is always important.
Section VIII: Appendix:
This section you include things that you wouldn’t have been able to anywhere else on your business plan Such as: organizational chart, projected financing charts, etc. This is important to include because without an organizational chart, and financing sheets the investor will not be interested in your company.
I took the focus of why having the sections of a business plan are important. Each section is crucially important. Without one section then the entire plan would not work. You would not be able to get any venture capitalists, loan officers, etc to help you by getting more capital.
DeleteI wrote my blog in the organizational pattern of Lowest to Highest. I did this because a business plan needs to be in order. If I mixed up the order, the plan would not make sense. I explained in great detail what you need in each section to make sure the reader understands what he/she must do to write that section.
I hope that the audience understands why a business plan is important for starting a business. Without a business plan it would be much harder to start a business. Even if you have capital (money). My readers are very new to the business world so they need extra help on what each section of a business plan is. Writing a business plan is not an easy task.
I thought that I struggled writing blogs. I always asked you for help. I need to be sure in college that I am confident enough to write on my own without asking for my instructors help. I thought that blog writing was different and more difficult. I struggle with punctuation and grammar in general and I thought that my skills are not the best considering that I never got a good grade for that standard. I need to be able to work on my punctuation and grammar so that I am college and career ready. This is going to be coming as a struggle for me, but I know I can do it.
